The Literature Committee is pleased to announce installment #7 in the short story reading-and-discussion series, to be held on Thursday, October 15, at 1:00 p.m.
The featured story is "The Monkey's Paw" by W. W. Jacobs, one of the most reprinted tales of horror in the English language. It's a classic of the genre and known for its grim ending and moral of the story, Be careful what you wish for, you may receive it.
This time, the reading and discussion will take place in person, at the Club, outside (on the patio under a tent) following the Club guidelines for health and safety.
Participants will take turns reading the story aloud, in round-robin fashion, and then discuss it afterward. Literature Committee member and librarian Bill Turner will offer remarks and act as facilitator.
Participation is open to Arts Club members and guests, ideally with up to 12 readers.
An optional lunch will be available at noon.
