Johnny Walker, Jr. received his Bachelors of Arts in Music Performance from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After graduating, Johnny performed and collaborated with numerous musicians and ensembles such as Larry Graham and Graham Central Station, Esperanza Spalding, the Lancaster, Mid-Atlantic, Soulful, and McLean Symphonies, the Baltimore Boom Bap Society, Snoh Aalegra, the Matt Jones Orchestra, Joshua Bell, and Yo-Yo Ma. Johnny is a passionate and encouraging teaching artist for the Washington Performing Arts. His primary cello teachers have been Élise Sharp of the String Queens, Gunnery Sergeant Denna Purdie (Ret.), and Gita Ladd. He participated in masterclasses held by Carlos Prieto, Norman Fischer, Cecylia Barczyk, Emanuel Gruber, Richard Belcher, and Claude Hauri of Trio des Alpes.
A reception will precede the performance with hors d'oeuvres and full bar.
Members can stay for dinner following this event.
To keep artists and audience safe the attendance for this event is strictly limited to 24 and all food and drinks are passed. Cabaret tables will be kept 6 ft apart. Please adhere to the Arts Club's guideline while attending this event:
