About the Artists:

Irina Muresanu, a Romanian-born violinist, is highly sought after internationally, performing across multiple continents including North America, Europe, Asia, and Africa, making her a prominent figure in the classical music world. Muresanu’s global presence reflects her versatility and artistry, as she is celebrated for her dynamic performances and broad appeal to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. Her career highlights the universal language of music and her ability to connect with listeners worldwide.

Asiya Korepanova stands out as the only pianist currently performing all 24 Liszt Etudes in a single program and is among the few with a concerto repertoire exceeding 60 works. Her artistic dedication extends beyond piano performance to include achievements as a transcriber, composer, visual artist, and poet. Korepanova has created notable solo piano transcriptions of works by Strauss, Rachmaninoff, Mussorgsky, and Tchaikovsky. She studied composition at the Moscow Conservatory with Albert Leman, a student of Shostakovich, and develops original multimedia projects blending her poetry and artwork with piano music by composers such as Liszt, Bach, Tchaikovsky, and Mussorgsky.

This project is supported in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
