Erica Spear is a flutist and arts administrator based in the Washington, D.C., area. Erica has had the pleasure of performing with numerous groups including the Annapolis Opera, Pan-American Symphony, The Great Falls Philharmonic, Sound Impact, and Company E. She has performed in a variety of venues such as the Kennedy Center, Library of Congress, Texas Public Radio, Maryland Hall, Rhizome and The Arts Club of Washington. Enthusiastic about creativity, she has enjoyed collaborations involving dancers, multimedia, and immersive soundscapes.
Erica completed her Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in Flute Performance at the University of Maryland, and her Bachelor of Music degrees in Flute Performance and Instrumental Music Education at the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University. Her primary teachers include Dr. Sarah Frisof and Dr. Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham, and she has completed additional studies with Aaron Goldman (Principal, National Symphony Orchestra), Dr. Brooks de Wetter-Smith (Professor Emeritus, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and Dr. Furugh Karimi Djafar-Zadeh (Professor,Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.)
Pianist Clifford Badgley began collaborating with other musicians in high school, when he had the opportunity to accompany a visiting oboist. Since then, he has worked with string, voice, and woodwind studios throughout his studies and professional career. He earned a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from the University of Wyoming and a master’s degree in piano performance from Arizona State University. In addition to his piano work, Clifford is an organist, teacher, and choral director. He lives in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and performs with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the region. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, trying his hand at woodworking, and hopes to learn Limerock on the fiddle.
