This Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., we offer a special, restorative hour (half guided-meditation and half gentle-Yoga-practice) to align one’s body, mind, and energy ahead of the new year. Please arrive a little early to get settled.
Teacher and Member Colleen Brisport Sequeda embraces the necessary hibernation of the season and invites you to come rest on your mat as we approach the shortest day of the year. No experience is necessary.
If you have a mat, please bring it. If you need a mat, please let us know in advance (see contact info below).
This season invites us to slow down and reflect.
Join us for restful meditation and gentle movement, surrounded by art and beauty, at The Arts Club of Washington. Our rejuvenating practice will culminate with warm, mulled wine as well as light refreshments.
We are a haven for the arts. Let us also be a sanctuary where you can feel restored!
Gentle Yoga at The Arts Club of Washington
One Wednesday a Month through December
With
Colleen Brisport Sequeda, teacher
6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
DOORS OPEN at 5:45 p.m.
Enrich your yoga practice in the iconic spaces of The Arts Club of Washington, held within the historic James Monroe House. In this accessible-to-all-levels, 60 minute, vinyasa yoga class, you will be led through a movement practice that draws on the creative energy of a space dedicated to the visual, performing, and literary arts.
Yoga reconnects us to our bodies and souls much in the same way that artistic mediums reconnect us to our culture and humanity. Classes will be set to classical and chamber music to connect you, not only with your inner self, but also with the vibrant artistic expression that defines The Arts Club.
We invite you on this journey of embodiment that blends wellness, music, and art-filled surroundings into a deeply moving mind and body experience. Join us in this gentle and transformative yoga practice.
*Complimentary tea and water will be offered before and after class and students may bring their own covered drinks to refresh themselves during practice.
*Attendees are encouraged to bring their own yoga or fitness mat. If a mat is needed for $5 rental please contact the teacher, Colleen Brisport Sequeda.
