OPEN TO MEMBERS - FREE

Screening of the documentary "Max Lorenz, Wagner's Mastersinger - Hitler's Siegfried". Max Lorenz was the most famous and beloved tenor of his day; Winifred Wagner, who appears in the film, secured special permission from Hitler to allow him to continue singing at Bayreuth when his having a Jewish wife would otherwise have prohibited him from continuing to perform in Germany. The film includes clips of Max Lorenz and comments from other singers, including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau and René Kollo.

Musicologist Saul Lilienstein will introduce the film and conduct what is sure to be a fascinating post-screening discussion.

Popcorn and beverages will be served. We hope you'll join us!
