OPEN TO MEMBERS & GUESTS $35
Preservation activists Betsy McDaniel and Sally Berk will discuss the effort to create a Bloomingdale Historic District. Sally will give a slide show presentation on Bloomingdale. Betsy will describe the path this row of house neighborhood of almost 1700 houses took to become an historic district in 2018. Listed on the DC Inventory of Historic Sites and on the National Register of Historic Places, the neighborhood played a significant role in abolishing racially restrictive housing covenants in the city and nation.
Includes a reception with refreshments and hors d'oeuvres.
Discounted parking available (free for members with membership card) at Colonial parking, 2001 Pennsylvania Ave. NW.
Administration of the Roundtable is a contribution by the staff of the nonprofit organizations—Emilie Evans, Preservation Action Foundation and Jere Gibber, National Preservation Institute.
