Authors Reading with

Nicole Chung and Jimin Han

Wednesday, October 30, 2024, 7:00 pm

FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Two authors who focus on memory and geographic distance read and discuss their work. Brought to the Arts Club by the Cheuse Center as part of The Politics of Language/ the Language of Politics. Nicole Chung and Jimin Han will be in conversation with Leeya Mehta.

Nicole Chung is the author of A Living Remedy, a memoir about a daughter’s search to understand the lives her adoptive parents led and the life she built as their daughter. The New York Time Book Review described it as “A transcendent memoir about family, class, and the contours of loss.”

Jimin Han is the author of the novel The Apology, which combines a ghost story and a family epic in the voice of a "sharp and witty" centenarian. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune states, "While such a plot could have been the stuff of tragedy, Han mines the material largely for its comic potential. Whether dead or alive, Jeonga is a larger-than-life character."

Each author will read and then discuss themes in their word with Leeya Mehta, director of the Alan Cheuse International Writers' Center. A reception and book signing will follow.

Book signing to follow.
