About the Artists:
Pianist Aleksandra Velgosha was born in Moscow, Russia. Aleksandra’s achievements include first and second prizes in competitions like E. R. Davis Piano Competition, Crescendo Competition (Carnegie Hall, NY), and many others. Aleksandra appeared as a soloist in performances with such groups as Tula Symphony Orchestra (Russia), New England Youth Ensemble, and JMU Wind Symphony. Aleksandra received her BM in Piano Performance with honors from Washington Adventist University with Dr. Mark Di Pinto, and completed her Master's degree at the University of Maryland under Prof. Larissa Dedova. Aleksandra is in her third year of DMA, studying with Dr. Gabriel Dobner at James Madison University, and has taught at such institutions as University of Maryland (Class Piano Coordinator), James Madison University, Richardson School of Music, Takoma Academy, and Chanson Music School.
Thomas Crouch is an American born pianist who has performed throughout America and in Italy. His accolades include the Washington State Young Artist Achievement award and the Portland State University Academic Achievement and Professional Achievement awards. Thomas has performed as a soloist with the Vancouver, Washington and Coeur d’Alene symphony orchestras. He has also given solo and chamber recitals for the Northwest Artist Series hosted by Steinway. Thomas is currently a Doctorate of Musical Arts student and graduate teaching assistant under the advisement of Dr. Paulo Steinberg. His interests lie in the French Baroque and is currently working on producing the first piano recordings of Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de La Guerre’s 1687 harpsichord suites.
