Witness the violin in its majesty throughout the ages performed by acclaimed violinist Julia Angelov; spanning the gamut between the elegant Baroque style of Handel and the longing Bulgarian folk influence of living composer Dobrinka Tabokova. The dynamism of Beethoven's vibrantly expressive first violin sonata pairs wonderfully with the Brahms Sonatentanz scherzo from the F-A-E Sonata, written when both composers were in their mere twenties with a charming sense of vitality and conviction. The program concludes with the joyous and heartfelt outpouring of Tchaikovsky's beloved Valse-Scherzo.
