We are pleased to present an online interview with Lavie Tidhar, an inventive author who brings new dimensions to science fiction.  In his recent book “The Circumference of the World, he parlays a science fiction mystery into a cosmic story about an “elusive and notorious book” called “Lode Stars” sought by an array of eclectic characters, including a mathematician, book dealer, and Russian mobster.  The book “disappears upon being read,” and “only the author, a rakish science fiction writer by the name of Eugene Charles Hartley and founder of the Church of the All-Seeing Eyes, knows whether his popular novel is truthful or a hoax.”  As a reviewer on Goodreads put it, “is any of “Lode Stars” real?  Delia Welegtabit, the mathematician, “searches for her father in a strange star system with three black holes.  Was Hartley a cynical conman on a quest for wealth and immortality, creating a religion he didn’t believe in?  Or was he a visionary who truly discovered the secrets of the universe?”
