Artist bios:
Flutist Sarah Frisof and pianist-composer Daniel Pesca have been working as a duo for the past sixteen years, establishing their collaboration when they were both in graduate school at the University of Michigan. Together, they have performed over forty recitals at universities, conservatories, and conferences across the country. Their recording of the music of Joseph Schwantner was released on Centaur Records in July 2016, to critical acclaim. Their second album, a cross-section of works by female composers of the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries was released in August 2020. Frisof is associate professor of flute at University of Maryland and is an active performer in many acclaimed ensembles and orchestras regionally and nationally. Pesca has taught at the University of Chicago and UMBC among other schools, and recently has been appointed assistant professor of composition at the Eastman School of Music, beginning Fall 2023.
