FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
Arts Club Drama Committee Chair Jameson Freeman interviews award-winning and critically acclaimed Lebanese-American playwright Mona Mansour joins us via Zoom for a conversation about her current show Unseen being performed at the Mosaic Theatre in Washington, D.C., as well as how her childhood obsessions, moving to New York City in the wake of the September 11th attacks, and questions around her father and family heritage led her to create powerful performance works, including The Vagrant Trilogy. Unseen asks what it would mean for our souls — personally and as a nation — if we were to truly see the impact of our actions. Mona was a writer for NBC’s long-running series New Amsterdam and is currently creating a series for Waleed and Joana Zuaiter’s FlipNarrative. In September 2020, Mona received the prestigious Kesselring Prize, awarded by the National Arts Club to one playwright a year.
