Celebrate National Pride Month with flair! Join the Arts Club of Washington for a reading by five of the region’s most innovative and exciting poets: Sunu P. Chandy, Tanya Olson, Kim Roberts, Malik Thompson, and Dan Vera.  The evening’s events begin with a reception and cash bar at 6:00 p.m. and end with a book signing.  Admission is free, but advance reservations are requested.

In 2023, the Arts Club of Washington proudly inaugurated its first group of Poets-in-Residence . Five talented and diverse LGBTQ+ poets from the Washington, D.C., region were selected for the honor, in a program supported by the District of Columbia Commission on the Arts.  Over six months, from January through June, the group met privately to create a supportive community for one another and work together on issues of craft. Each writer also offered a free, public poetry workshop.

This writer’s residency inaugurates a new annual program at the Club, and reinforces our historic identity as a welcoming space for people of all genders and sexualities.

Masks optional at this event.

The Arts Club of Washington is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. located at 2017 I Street N.W., Washington D.C. 20006
