The Washington Arts Ensemble Presents:

Tour de France

Friday, September 23, 2022

6:30 pm  -  10:00 pm

Public (Non-Member) Tickets

Welcome to our season’s opening night! The concert begins with Melanie Bonis' tone poems for piano trio, Soir and Matin, as well as her Piano Quartet Op 69, a revolutionary and underrepresented work by one of the most gifted composers of the era. Culminating with Gabriel Faure's piano Quartet in c minor Op 15, the concert showcases the French musical vocabulary, bringing to mind aspects of movement and light emphasized in Impressionist visual art. Pianists and cofounders Natalia Kazaryan and Christopher Schmitt will be joined by the New York based virtuoso violinist Kobi Malkin, violist Allyson Goodman of the National Opera Orchestra, and cellist Loewi Lin of the National Symphony Orchestra.

Co-Founded by Juilliard classmates and pianists, the Washington Arts Ensemble is a classical music collective dedicated to bringing you an unforgettable chamber music concert experience. In addition to offering classical music programs with musicians of the highest level, we emphasize a connection and fellowship with our audience throughout the concert experience. As a non-profit arts organization, we are committed to fostering a connection with our community by offering diverse and educational programming.
