About the artist:
Dr. Kimia Hesabi is a violist and teaching artist based in the Washington D.C. area. She is an active performer in the USA and has performed in various prestigious concert halls across the country as well as her home country Iran. She has recently released her album entitled Nemāno Gaona featuring works for viola by composers of the Iranian Diaspora under New Focus Recordings. Hesabi’s research and performances have been featured at the American Viola Society Festival, in June 2021 and her article titled “Viola Repertoire from the Iranian Diaspora” has been published by the Journal of the American Viola Society.
