The performance will be followed by a reception with the artists. Cash bar (free for ACW members)
Cellist Stephen Czarkowski, now in his 12th season as the Music Director and Conductor of the Apollo Orchestra, also serves as the new Music Director of the Central Pennsylvania Symphony, and Music Director of the Symphonette at Landon School. For the past eight years he served as Assistant Conductor of the York Symphony Orchestra. He has guest conducted the National Symphony Orchestra through the National Conducting Institute under Leonard Slatkin. As solo cellist, Mr. Czarkowski has been Special Guest Artist at the Library of Congress, The White House, The National Cathedral, The Metropolitan Club, Arts Club of Washington, Catholic University of America and in concert honoring Senator Ben Cardin, Pope Francis and President Obama.
Trumpeter Neil Brown, enjoys a multi-faceted career as a performer, educator, composer, arranger, and band leader. Currently a member of the Apollo Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, Opera Camerata, Tryos Ensemble and the illustrious Trio Illumino, Neil is frequently heard playing with many Washington D.C. area ensembles including the National Philharmonic, Maryland Symphony.
