The Marfield Prize Public Reading

Wednesday, June 8th,  2022,   at 6:30 pm



Please join us as the Arts Club of Washington hosts a public reading honoring Kira Thurman author of “Singing Like Germans: Black Musicians in the Land of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms” the recipient of The Marfield Prize, the National Award for Arts Writing. The evening includes refreshments, a program, and a brief interview followed by reading an excerpt of the winning book by the recipient of the 2021 Marfield Prize.

6:30 PM: Light refreshments served

7:00 PM: Interview and public reading

The Marfield Prize, sponsored by the Arts Club of Washington, recognizes the author of an outstanding nonfiction book about the arts published during the previous calendar year. This $10,000 prize is designed to highlight excellence in arts writing for a general audience.
