The highlight of the Arts Club's holidays festivities, this year traditional holiday black tie dinner honoring the present and past presidents of the Club.
Join us for a special evening when the Club is at its most beautiful, decorated for the holidays, and enjoy a gala menu prepared by Chef de Cuisine, Patrick Orange.
Program
Stephen Czarkowski cellist with Neil Brown trumpet and Sally McLain violinist. Program will consist of popular works including a Beatles Tribute, Tin Tin Deo, Bach First Cello Suite, What a Wonderful World and Fly Me to the Moon among several Holiday favorites.
Cellist Stephen Czarkowski, now in his 11th season as the Music Director and Conductor of the Apollo Orchestra, also serves as the Associate Conductor of Opera Camerata of Washington and the Assistant Conductor of the York Symphony Orchestra. He has guest conducted the Prince George Philharmonic, the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia, Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra, Two Rivers Chamber Orchestra, Symphony of the Potomac and Washington Sinfonietta. He has also guest conducted the National Symphony Orchestra through the National Conducting Institute under Leonard Slatkin. As solo cellist, Mr. Czarkowski has been Special Guest Artist at the Library of Congress, The White House, The National Cathedral, The Metropolitan Club, Catholic University of America and in concert honoring Pope Francis and President Obama. www.stephenczarkowski.com
Neil Brown, trumpeter, enjoys a multi-faceted career as a performer, educator, composer, arranger, and band leader. Currently a member of the Apollo Orchestra, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, Opera Camerata, Tryos Ensemble and the illustrious Trio Illumino, Neil is frequently heard playing with many Washington D.C. area ensembles including the National Philharmonic, Maryland Symphony. www.tryosensemble.com
Sally McLain, violinist, received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees with High Distinction from Indiana University, where she studied with James Buswell. She has participated in the Bach Aria Festival and Institute, the New York String Orchestra and the Tanglewood Music Center. Sally was concertmaster of the Washington Chamber Symphony for ten seasons and is currently concertmaster of Washington Concert Opera. She was a member of the Theater Chamber Players and has recorded the complete quartets of David Diamond and Quincy Porter with the Potomac String Quartet for Albany Records. Sally is currently violinist with the Left Bank Quartet and is an Adjunct Chamber Music Faculty member at the University of Maryland.
