Enjoy an evening of conversation between artist and art historian on a new book of disarmingly quiet photographs capturing the sacred and the mundane in our DC federal structures and prompting new ideas about photographs as a literary genre.

The evening event will be a conversation between artist O’Leary and architectural historian Jennifer Hock about the book. It will be followed by an optional open bar reception and buffet dinner at a fee of $30.
Maureen O’Leary, the artist who produced Record, has participated in over 60 art exhibitions in the US, Europe and Asia, and is a former recipient of an artist fellowship from the Fondation des États-Unis, Paris. She is represented by the gallery Cristin Tierney, New York, New York.
Dr. Jennifer Hock is an architectural historian who specializes in the history of twentieth-century architecture and urbanism. A faculty member at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, Maryland, Hock is an expert in architectural history and the construction of social identities. She earned a Ph.D. in architecture from Harvard University, an MA in art history from the Courtauld Institute at the University of London, and a BA in English and art history from Yale University
