OPEN TO MEMBERS - FREE

The Literature Committee invites you to join us for the next installment in the short story reading-and-discussion series to be held Thursday, May 20, at 1:00 p.m.--"The Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin, author of The Awakening and widely recognized as one of the leading writers of her time.  Featuring a female protagonist who feels liberation at the news of her husband's death, "The Story of an Hour" was controversial by American standards of the 1890s.  Join us for the reading and discussion and find out why.

Participants will take turns reading the story aloud, in round-robin fashion, and discuss it afterward.  Literature Committee member and librarian Bill Turner will facilitate.  You won't want to miss this one.

A Zoom link to join the meeting will be sent to participants before the event.

Please join us!  RSVP online today!

A Zoom link for this event will be sent once you register and when the event begins.
