The Arts Club at Home:

A New Series of Online Events Starts with Short Story Round-Robin Live Reading and Discussion

Katherine Brush: "Birthday Party"

&

Ernest Hemingway: "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place"

Thursday, July 23 at 1:00 pm

OPEN TO MEMBERS - FREE

The Literature Committee is pleased to announce another installment in the short story reading-and-discussion series .  This time, it's a twofer: Katherine Brush's gem of a short, short story, "Birthday Party," to start us off, and then the main fare, a classic by Ernest Hemingway, "A Clean, Well-Lighted Place."  Attached are the two texts in pdf format.

As with our previous offerings, participants will take turns reading the story aloud, in round-robin fashion, and then discuss it afterward.  Literature Committee member and former librarian Bill Turner will offer remarks and act as facilitator.

Participation is open to Arts Club members, with a limit of 12 readers and any more to go on a wait list.  Any others are welcome to sit in as an audience.

An invitation with the Zoom link to join the meeting along with discussion questions, will be sent via email to the participants prior to the event.

RSVP online today.
