Please join us on Friday, June 5th as the Arts Club of Washington hosts the 14th Annual Marfield Prize with an online award event honoring Andrew McConnell Stott, the recipient of the Marfield Prize, the National Award for Arts Writing for his book What Blest Genius?: The Jubilee That Made Shakespeare.
The online event via Zoom includes a program, an interview by Washington Post Theater critic Peter Marks, and a virtual presentation of the award.

Due to the current crisis of the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional in-person evening gathering at the Arts Club to give the award to Mr. Stott has been postponed.

THE NATIONAL AWARD FOR ARTS WRITING
The Marfield Prize, sponsored by the Arts Club of Washington, recognizes the author of an outstanding nonfiction book about the arts published during the previous calendar year. This $10,000 prize is designed to highlight excellence in arts writing for a general audience. The Marfield Prize's 2019 award judges are Edwidge Danticat, National Book Award finalist, 2009 MacArthur fellow, and winner of the 2018 Neustadt International Prize; Louis Bayard, New York Times Notable author and board member of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation; and Peter Marks, chief drama critic of The Washington Post.
