The Arts Club at Home:

A New Series of Online Events Starts with Short Story Round-Robin Live Reading and Discussion

MARK TWAIN'S

"The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County"

Thursday, May 21 at 1:00 pm

OPEN TO MEMBERS - FREE

The Literature Committee is pleased to announce a second installment in the new short story reading-and-discussion series, this time, Mark Twain's "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County" which will take place on Zoom.  As with our first offering, Anton Chekhov's "The Bet," participants will take turns reading the story aloud a few paragraphs at a time, in round-robin fashion, and discuss it afterward.  Literature Committee member Bill Turner (once a librarian, always a librarian) will act as facilitator.

Participation is open to all members, with a limit of 12 readers  (and any more to go on a waitlist).  An invitation to join the event on Zoom, along with discussion questions, will be sent to participants on May 19.  Please join us as the Arts Club moves onward and upward into social media, and add your voice to the reading and discussion of this masterful, sly and witty story, and Twain's first claim to fame as an author.

RSVP online by Monday, May 18.
