Cloud and Fire: A Spoken Word and Musical Cabaret is a new collaborative performance piece by Washington, DC poet and Capturing Fire Queer Poetry Slam Festival founder Regie Cabico and Paris entertainer Martin Dust of Le Cabaret de Poussiere. Inspired by "Staggerlee wonders," a James Baldwin poem examining racism in the South, Regie and Martin along with his band will lead a line up of spoken word and musical artists to present work exploring gender, queerness, and race. The performance will be hosted by Regie Cabico and feature poets Jack Shamblin, Tyler French, Micah Powell of Capturing Fire; Martin Dust, Mam'zelle Viviane, Xavier Belen & Amstrong Tebe of Le Cabaret de Poussiere; and Kevin Wiggins of Day 8.
A reception with the artists will follow the show.; open wine bar and refreshments.
