The Arts Club of Washington, the oldest art organization in DC, over a century old, promotes and celebrates the visual, performing, and literary arts in the nation’s capital. The club’s historic I Street mansion was formerly the home of President James Monroe. The Arts Club hosts events and artistic outreach series for members and the public.

The club sponsors the Marfield Prize, an annual award for arts writing, monthly exhibits in the house’s four galleries, and a scholarship competition.
