Aleks Izotov is a pianist and composer based in the DC metro area. He was awarded the Most Outstanding Rhythm Section Player at the 2016 Reno Jazz Festival and was featured as a composer in the “OhMyEars” music festival.
Over the years, he has had the great privilege to learn from master improvisers such as Kris Davis, Rufus Reid, Ralph Alessi, Curtis Fuller, and Bill Charlap.
A native of Phoenix, Arizona, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance from Arizona State University, where he studied with pianist Michael Kocour.
