for the past five years this series has presented the reigning jazz pianists of our time in a series of concerts focusing on innovation, celebrating a hundred years of Piano Jazz in Washington, DC.
Pianists Bruce Barth and Eri Yamamoto are up next at Piano Jazz at the Arts Club bringin 4 hands, 20 fingers, to 1 Steinway.
Bruce Barth is a performer and composer whose powerful and imaginative compositions have a voice that is deeply personal and expressive. In addition to traveling widely performing his own music, he has also performed extensively with Terence Blanchard, Terell Stafford, and Steve Wilson.
Eri Yamamoto has an equally impressive background in jazz as a performer and composer. She performs regularly with her Trio in New York and throughout the world. "Firefly" is her ninth CD, evoking the natural beauty and tranquility of her native Japan, while bringing to life the vitality and energy of New York City.
