Arts Club member and the Smithsonian's first Choreographer-in-Residence, Dana Tai Soon Burgess, shares a special showcase of his newest work, a suite of modern dances that pay homage to vocalist Marian Anderson, an icon who broke racial barriers through her resplendent voice. The work, entitled "A Tribute to Marian Anderson" is being premiered at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery.

The tribute will feature dancers from the Dana Tai Soon Burgess Dance Company, opera singer Millicent Scarlett, and pianist Jeffery Watson. Burgess will also participate in a Q&A with members and guests.

8:30 - dinner
