Originally from Massachusetts, Tom Mulherin has lived in the Washington, D.C. area since 2012. He has been a student of Wade Beach's since 2015, and began his M.M. in Jazz Studies at George Mason University in 2017. Tom holds a B.A. in Music from the University of Virginia, where he was a student of Bob Hallahan and John D'earth, and a Ph.D. in the philosophy of music from the University of Notre Dame. He maintains an active performance schedule in the region and is currently most likely to be found holding down the piano chair in the Northern Virginia Jazz Collective.
