Now in its 5th year, Piano Jazz at the Arts Club has presented the reigning jazz pianists of our time in a series of concerts focusing on innovation, celebrating a hundred years of Piano Jazz in Washington, DC.

New Zealand native Alan Broadbent has won numerous Grammy Awards. He attended Berklee College of Music before a three year stint with the Woody Herman band as pianist and arranger. Thereafter he settled in Los Angeles, where he collaborated with Nelson Riddle, David Rose and Johnny Mandel, and served as pianist on Natalie Cole’s famous “Unforgettable” CD, winning a Grammy for “best orchestral arrangement accompanying a vocal”. He won his second Grammy, for the orchestral accompaniment written for Shirley Horn of Leonard Bernstein’s “Lonely Town”.
