Please join the Arts Club Cinematography Committee for Dr. Ken Moskowitz's Cinema Lunch talk on Japanese director Yasujiro Ozu’s cinematic style and themes, with an overview of Japanese film genres related to Japanese society, aesthetics, sports and other fields. Learn what makes Ozu a giant of Japanese and world cinema. Currently Adjunct Professor of Political Science at Temple University, Japan Campus in Tokyo, Dr. Moskowitz is a former film critic, marketing director for The Arlington Players, and Arts Club non-resident member. Until retirement in 2015, he served in a number of positions in Japan during a 30-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service as a public diplomacy specialist, including Director of the American Center in Tokyo, and is the author of "Adaptation in Bulgaria" (Penny-a-Page Press). He holds degrees from Swarthmore College, Brown University, and the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts of Bulgaria. He lives in Yokohama.
