MARFIELD PRIZE READING
Wendy Lesser Discusses and Reads from Her Book
You Say to Brick on Influential Architect Louis Kahn

Wendy Lesser, recipient of the twelfth annual Marfield Prize for arts writing, reads from and discusses her book, You Say to Brick: The Life of Louis Kahn, next month at the Arts Club of Washington.
You Say to Brick (Farrar, Straus and Giroux) is a fascinating biography of Louis Kahn, one of the most influential architects of his era despite having designed only a handful of masterpieces during his lifetime. Beginning with his mysterious death and a glimpse into his complicated family life, Lesser traces his career and brings to life in richly descriptive "in situ" passages the work that made him such a memorable figure.
Following the presentation and reading, Lesser answers audience questions and signs copies of her book, provided by Politics & Prose.

To complete this biography, she was awarded one of the first National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholar awards, the only one given to a Californian in 2015.
