EVENING WITH EXTRAORDINARY ARTISTS: Christina Ruppert

The Arts Club is happy to welcome Christina Ruppert, the Director of Operations for the 48 Hour Film Project, who manages the day-to-day operations of the 48HFP, helps City Producers manage their cities, documents and improves procedures, updates the website, and manages projects that involve the rest of the HQ staff.

The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which teams make a movie - write, shoot, and edit - in just 48 hours. On Friday night, teams draw a genre from a hat. They are then given a character, prop and line to include in their films. On Sunday night, in a wild dash to the drop off event, the film is turned in - and teams celebrate. The film is then screened at a local theater in front of an audience of filmmakers, friends and families.

Earlier this month, filmmakers from all over the Washington, DC area competed to see who could make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world at Filmapalooza 2019 for a chance at the grand prize and an opportunity to screen at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 Short Film Corner.

Doors open at 6:30 pm; performance begins at 7:00 pm.

A wine and hors-d'oeuvres reception will take place before and after the performance.

The Arts Club of Washington is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. located at 2017 I Street N.W., Washington D.C. 20006
