Musical program featuring Barry Gurley.
Named "Best Pianist/Vocalist in Washington" by The Washingtonian Magazine, Gurley has appeared in venues ranging from DC’s Blues Alley and Monterey Jazz Festival to the Bilboquet in Paris. His style encompasses the Great American Songbook, blues and jazz as well as the pop and R&B of the baby-boomer generation. His piano/vocal stylings draw from diverse influences that range from vocalists Mel Torme to Stevie Wonder and from pianists Herbie Hancock to Ray Charles. Gurley recently appeared with vocalist Lena Seikaly performing the music of Cole Porter in “Ballet, Brass and Song” at The Sidney Harmon Hall in Washington, DC . There will be dark and milk chocolate tasting, and the sharing of some favorite memories at the club. To be a “story sharer,” please email Jameson Freeman at jamemanfreeson@gmail.com. Come prepared to feel the love!
