The Evenings with Extraordinary Artists Series will feature a panel discussion with Julie Kent, the new Artistic Director of the Washington Ballet, and Elvi Moore, the former General Director of the Washington Ballet and founder of the Laurel Fund for the Performing Arts.

Kent retired from the stage last June after 29 years of dancing with the American Ballet Theater. She became Artistic Director of ABT's summer intensive programs held in five cities. In her new position with the Washington Ballet, Kent will oversee the 21-member company as well as the Washington School of Ballet and it's community outreach programs.

For the coming season, she is hoping to hire a few more ballerinas with a view to programing Frederick Aston's serene 1946 ballet "Symphonic Variations."

Moore will discuss with Kent her vision for the Washington Ballet in the years ahead.

Doors open at 6:30 pm; program begins at 7:00 pm.

A wine and hors-d'oeuvres reception will take place before and after the performance.

The Arts Club of Washington is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. located at 2017 I Street N.W., Washington D.C. 20006
