CLUB DINNER

For this Friday's Members Dinner, we are presenting Act II of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, by Dale Wasserman and Ken Kesey and performed by Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble. This is the story of R.P. McMurphy,  a charming rogue who contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather than in a prison. This, he learns, was a mistake. He clashes with the head nurse, Nurse Ratched and yet quickly takes over as “the head looney.” At this point in the play, McMurphy has staged a bit of a rebellion with an imaginary baseball game and a very unhappy Nurse Ratched. McMurphy has also planned a secret party complete with sneaking in two of his lady friends and some booze. Now if they get caught by Nurse Ratched, McMurphy and his new friends will likely have more than shock therapy and loss of tv privileges in their futures.

Fredericksburg Theatre Ensemble is a 501c3 non-profit theatre group that first took to the stage in the spring of 2011 reveling in guilty laughs and celebrating the art of the uncomfortable through quality community theatre productions.
